IUSA 1 & 2
IUSA 1 took place in Rathmullan, Co. Donegal, where our Firsts team raced in Silver Fleet, won every race, and earned promotion to Gold Fleet. That performance secured Queen’s two team entries for IUSA 2 in Schull, Co. Cork. At IUSA 2, our Firsts stepped up into Gold Fleet and won 4 of 7 races, delivering the best overall result Queen’s has achieved at an IUSA event. Our Seconds also put in a brilliant shift in Silver Fleet, winning 4 of 6 races and showing how strong the squad is across the board. With those results across both events, we’ve earned enough points to send three teams to IUSA 3 — which QUBSC will be hosting in Portrush in February 2026.

🌊 Queen’s University Sailing Club x USSC 🌊
This year, Queen’s University Sailing Club is proud to join the University Sailing Sustainability Challenge (USSC) a global push to protect our oceans and promote eco-friendly sailing. 🌍 What It’s All About The USSC brings together university sailing clubs from across the world to turn awareness into action. It’s about creating real momentum for cleaner seas — not just talking about sustainability, but living it, one regatta at a time. Through this challenge, we’re working to: Reduce waste — swapping single-use plastics for reusables, and encouraging everyone to leave no trace. Protect our waters — by leading beach clean-ups, recycling initiatives, and eco-education sessions. Champion eco-friendly sailing — maintaining our boats and gear with sustainable products, and promoting wind power as the ultimate renewable energy.

Women at the helm Fundraiser
This year, QUB Sailing Club is proud to launch our Women at the Helm initiative, aimed at empowering and supporting more female sailors to take leadership roles on the water. The 25/26 season will see dedicated training, mentoring, and racing opportunities designed to build confidence, showcase talent, and ensure equal representation at the helm across all levels of the club.

Artemis Technologies Staff Event
QUBSC x Artemis Technologies Staff Day The QUB Sailing Club had the fantastic opportunity to team up with Artemis Technologies for a dedicated staff day, celebrating collaboration between industry and university sport. The event was a huge success – bringing staff and sailors together on the water to experience team racing, showcase our Fireflies, and strengthen connections with one of Belfast’s leading innovators in maritime technology. It was an inspiring day that highlighted both the talent within the club and the exciting potential of partnerships beyond the university.

QUBSC X Armada Week Greece
To kick off the summer, QUB Sailing Club set sail for Greece to join Armada Week. Instead of racing, we spent our days cruising between stunning islands, swimming in crystal-clear waters, and our nights enjoying the legendary Armada parties. It was the perfect mix of sunshine, sailing, and socials - a trip we won’t forget anytime soon! We’re already looking ahead to next summer, when QUBSC will be heading to Croatia for Armada Week 2026.... Bigger, better, and sunnier than ever.
